American Crop Insurance has joined hands with Farmers Edge to offer data-driven insurance services and personalised cover for farmers in the US.

Through the partnership, American Crop Insurance is expected to get equipped with a turnkey digital solution to expand its business and attract elite farmers and gain a strategic position in a competitive market.

American Crop Insurance to use Farmers Edge’s FarmCommand platform

The solution will offer access to FarmCommand, a vertically integrated farm risk management platform. It is a suite of digital tools for strengthening data management for farmers, giving them options to share information with the insurance agency to acreage reporting and claims automation.

The solution is powered by in-field sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) platform that can transform data into insights. It also includes severe weather forecasting, accurate predictive crop models, advanced scouting tools and automated detection of changes in crop health, for optimised crop production and offering them the ability to monitor their field form anywhere.

Furthermore, the platform includes Smart Claim and Smart Reporting, which can bridge the gap between field data collection and reporting.

American Crop Insurance general sales manager Jim Stinson said: “American Crop Insurance is proud of our high-tech, personalized approach to working with growers, and our partnership with Farmers Edge is enabling us to take it to the next level.

“We’re excited to create new tailored services for our growers and provide a faster, more efficient way to work together that saves them a lot of time and reduces the headaches of keeping paper-based records.

“The digital revolution in ag is in full force; paving the way for our growers to realize the benefits of connected farming is one of our top business priorities.”

Farmers Edge CEO and co-founder Wade Barnes said: “Insurance is a data-rich and labour-intensive industry. By creating a seamless connection with their growers, American Crop Insurance can tap into real-time data, ensuring they have the highest-quality data sets to support personalized services.

“This partnership positions the agency as a leader in their industry, embracing the changing technological needs of growers while also streamlining internal processes to foster business growth.”
