Global pure-play agriculture company Corteva has introduced a new integrated technology solution called LANDVisor for ranchers and land managers.

LANDVisor is an advanced digital technology that will help ranchers and land managers to implement a customised solution to achieve their land goals.

The new technology combines advanced imagery and data analytics with expert management advice to enhance land productivity.

LANDVisor technology offers complete information on forage productivity and vegetation, including the density of desirable and undesirable plant species. It will help identify where and when herbicide treatments should be applied for better benefits.

LANDVisor will help producers to manage land for optimal productivity and environmental outcomes

The new integrated technology will enable producers to manage land for optimal productivity and environmental outcomes.

LANDVisor provides major insights to help land managers make more informed and actionable decisions on the potential of their land, helping to maximise return on investment.

The company will provide the LANDVisor to ranchers and land managers in the Southwest in early 2020 for the management of highly invasive honey mesquite.

Honey mesquite, which is a significant consumer of water, outcompetes native grasses and desirable woody plants. It will result in the reduction of both forage production for cattle and plant diversity for wildlife.

Corteva intends to expand LANDVisor in the US, as well as across the world for use in the range and pasture business, and other industries.

Corteva Agriscience pasture and land management business leader Damon Palmer said: “Land managers and ranchers care about all their resources, and they manage all of them for both environmental and economic sustainability.

“LANDVisor gives them confidence that they are making optimum decisions. Providing customers with the latest integrated technology to sustainably manage their resources and maximize productivity is key to fulfilling our commitment to ensure progress.”

Earlier this month, Corteva announced that it will invest $145m at its US facility to expand global capacity of its insect management technology for the natural products market.
