Agriculture testing laboratory Dairyland Laboratories has collaborated with crop consulting firm and agricultural laboratory ServiTech on feed testing technology.

The laboratory partnership between the companies will allow them to better serve the beef and dairy industry.

Both laboratories are committed to offer an extended level of service and feed science for dairy herds in the high plains and the southwestern US.

The labs will offer seamless sample drop off, submission and reporting benefits to the customer.

ServiTech president and CEO Greg Ruehle said: “ServiTech has three strategically located laboratory locations in geographies with growing dairy herds.

“Dairyland Labs’ rich history and commitment to science commands respect in the dairy feed testing space, and we are very excited about this new partnership moving forward. It’s a win for both labs, and ultimately a win for producers within the ServiTech service area.”

The deal allows laboratory users to ship to or drop off feedstuff samples at any ServiTech laboratory location

The deal provides flexibility to laboratory users to ship to or drop off feedstuff samples at any ServiTech laboratory location in addition to accessing the experts at Dairyland.

ServiTech will engage in the processing of samples and run NIR spectral scans. Dairyland calibrations will allow predicting the NIR spectral scans. Customers will have the flexibility to view test results online via an account with either laboratory.

Dairyland Laboratories president Dave Taysom said: “The new strengthened laboratory partnership builds on the analytical strengths of both companies.

“This unique relationship between ServiTech and Dairyland will provide real value in analytical services for the beef and dairy industry. We are excited to get started.”

In February this year, Feed additives provider Bluestar Adisseo has signed an agreement with biotechnology company Calysta to commercialise feed solution, FeedKind, in the aquaculture sector.

As part of the deal, the companies will create a joint venture Calysseo to develop the feed solution as well as exclusively supply to the customers in the Asian markets.
