Diversified corporation Exxe Group has acquired France-based agricultural transport company DIONI Logistics Agri-Transport Services.

Based in Paris, DIONI is engaged in the distribution of agricultural products, including various grains and hemp.

Exxe has acquired DIONI via a combination of private equity funding, assumption of debt, and privately structured capital investments.

Under the deal, Exxe has purchased a controlling interest that represents a total of around $9m (7.3m) in company-wide assets, as well as around $3m (£2.4m) in 2018 revenue, which was secured by Exxe’s contractual commitments over a three-year period.

Exxe intends to provide growth capital and payout to the original owners. Exxe will include the French company in its agribusiness division.

DIONI has several European locations such as France, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Greece and Ukraine

DIONI, which has several European locations such as France, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Greece and Ukraine, is currently in the process of relocating its global headquarters to New York to meet US regulatory requirements and maintain stock market transparency.

With extensive logistics facilities, DIONI offers a range of agricultural transportation services. The company has a large fleet, including owned, leased, financed and managed in partnership of about 80 transport vehicles for the transportation of bulk grains.

The company intends to double the number of trucks in 2020, as well as establish new first-class warehouses for the storage and the processing of wheat and other grains.

The warehouses, which are in contractual obligations with DIONI, are strategically situated within close proximity to the seaport for swift import/export.

At present, the company has a growth model set to operationally handle 200,000 hectares per year at a gross weight of around one million tonnes.

The fleet can consistently handle freight and operate at or near-maximum capacity with current shipping capacity per truck of around 40 tonnes and boat load capacity between 10,000 and 25,000 tonnes per trip.
