Lighting solution company Fiberli has selected Seoul Semiconductor’s SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs for horticulture projects in Turkey.

The replacement of sunlight with LED lighting will allow growers to control the growth cycles and development of all types of crops in greenhouses and indoor farms across the year.

Fiberli director Hakan Ozturk said: “We are proud to launch the innovative horticulture LED lighting in co-operation with Seoul Semiconductor. Its SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs are the first and only true sunlight LEDs that enable growers to ensure better yields and a consistently high quality of crops.”

The SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs are claimed to be the world’s first LEDs to generate light, which nearly matches the spectrum of natural sunlight.

Seoul Semiconductor’s SunLike Series LEDs for horticulture LED lighting is said to achieve a full spectrum of light wavelengths from 380nm to 740nm similar to the spectral curve of natural sunlight with a colour temperature of 5000K optimised to daylight spectra and colour properties of CRI97, CQS97, TM30=100.

Seoul Semiconductor’s horticulture lighting solution will allow Fiberli to better cultivate all varieties of crops and flowers

Fiberli has selected Seoul Semiconductor’s horticulture lighting solution to meet the requirements of the light source for the efficient cultivation of all varieties of crops and flowers.

Fiberli will launch horticulture lighting with SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs with a demo installation of 1500m2.

Seoul Semiconductor has combined its optical semiconductor technology with Toshiba Materials’ TRI-R technology for the development of SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs.

Toshiba’s TRI-R technology facilitates the spectrum of natural sunlight to be reproduced by a white LED light source.

Seoul Semiconductor vice president and CTO Dr Kim said: “The horticulture lighting market is growing fast, and our SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs will offer the considerable benefits for customers to achieve optimal horticulture lighting solutions.”

In May this year, Wageningen University & Research (WUR) selected Fluence by OSRAM to offer broad spectrum LED lighting for Serre Red high-tech quarantine greenhouse.
