Seed producer Golden Harvest has partnered with farm equipment-maker John Deere to provide data integration services to farmers for on-farm decision-making.

From this fall, farmers using Golden Harvest seeds will receive recommendations via E-Luminate, the Golden Harvest digital ag platform. It is the first data integration for E-Luminate, available on desktop and as a mobile app.

The platform has already been helping farmers to fine-tune hybrid and variety placement along with offering support management decision across the season through high-resolution imagery.

Now, by integrating with John Deere Operations Center, Golden Harvest claims that it will provide automatic and seamless assimilation with yield data for improved seed decisions.

Syngenta digital product manager Justin Welch said: “To unlock data’s full potential, it needs to be available in the tools that farmers actually use.

“Bringing together John Deere – one of the largest trusted data advisors – with E-Luminate means Golden Harvest farmers will be more empowered than ever to make informed, impactful decisions.”

This winter, farmers will be able to share their harvest data with their Golden Harvest Seed Advisors automatically via E-Luminate to inform seed decisions for next season. The connection will help farmers to capture the full value of their seed investment.

Welch continued saying: “We’re investing in digital tools because actionable data helps farmers get the full benefit from their seed purchase. We believe E-Luminate and services like it should be included in the cost of doing business.

“When you buy seed from a Golden Harvest Seed Advisor, you’re not only going to get top-performing corn and soybeans, but also the recommendations and trusted service you need to maximize your profit potential.”

In June, Golden Harvest announced that it is expanding its seed advisor services by adding 175 more seed advisors to its network. Last year, the number of seed advisors stood at 156. They span the Midwest of the US, working with farmers across Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Golden Harvest Seed Advisors support farmers with agronomic selection and placement of corn and soybeans to maximise their yield potential. The seed advisors are backed by Syngenta, an agriculture research and development firm.
