John Deere has introduced a new 8 Family Tractor lineup with 8R wheel tractors, 8RT two-track tractors and 8RX tractors that are claimed to be the industry’s first fixed-frame four-track tractors.

The new tractors are equipped with precision agriculture technology, allowing customers to choose machine configuration and horsepower to best their operations.

Every 8 Family Tractor is claimed to be fully integrated, fully capable and fully supported with the latest technology, the company stated.

The full suite of John Deere technology is claimed to integrate seamlessly in terms of automation, documentation and connectivity through the John Deere Operations Centre.

Its new StarFire 6000 integrated receives needs no calibration for the Terrain Compensation Module (TCM), is more accurate than previous models and is less vulnerable to theft.

The interior offers a wide-open access control layout for the operator

Al the tractors in the 8 Family are also equipped with larger cab. With an extra two inches of headroom and 24% wider entry path, it is easy to enter and egress. The interior has been automotive-inspired and surrounds the operator, offering wide-open access to a new control layout.

Customers can choose from three Comfort and Convenience cab packages including Select, Premium or Ultimate.

John Deere production agriculture marketing manager Tammy Lee said: “New 8RX Tractors offer all the benefits of tracks and provide a driving experience more like a wheel tractor.

“They represent the next leap forward in tractor innovation and have everything customers like about 8R wheel tractors with the addition of four independent tracks and a new fully suspended cab that makes them more comfortable to operate. This new machine form delivers unmatched flotation, traction and ride quality.”

Lee continued saying: “We didn’t just add tracks to an 8R Tractor. This is a fully engineered John Deere four-track solution, not a bolt-on aftermarket product.

“A key component is the John Deere 1700 pivoting beam axle, specifically designed for a four-track tractor to provide the necessary strength and enable adjustability of tread spacings to fit grower needs.”

The new cab also includes a new leather seat with electronic adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage features, and smartphone integration with a 6.5-inch touchscreen and multi-speaker system and leather-wrapped steering wheel, footrests and carpeted floor mat.

The company has also updated its lineup of 7R Tractors for the model year 2020. The tractors range has been refined to offer a good combination of power and versatility with new levels of comfort and precision ag technology.

Seven models are available from 210 to 330hp, offering the size and horsepower options that are ideal for diversified crop and livestock producers, commercial hay growers and transport operations.
