Food and agribusiness company J.R. Simplot has completed the previously announced acquisition of Pinnacle Agriculture for an undisclosed amount.

The deal includes Pinnacle Agriculture, an agricultural retailer, and all of its subsidiaries. It is expected to bring together two agricultural crop inputs and related services providers.

The combined teams of Simplot and Pinnacle are expected to operate as Simplot Grower Solutions, which is led by vice president and general manager Troy Bolt.

Bolt said: “Our combined retail store footprint increases our ability to provide leading products, services and advice to our joint customers and farm communities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“By expanding our services further into the Midwest and Southern regions of the U.S., we can serve more farmers in more areas who have the important job of growing food to feed the world.”

Simplot’s AgriBusiness Group now has more than 240 crop input locations across the US and Canada with more than 4,400 employees and 500 crop advisors, serving more than 40,000 farmers in the North American continent.

Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, J.R. Simplot was established in 1929. The company a portfolio of phosphate mining, fertiliser manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, food processing, food brands, and other enterprises related to agriculture.

With major operations across the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, South America and China, the company’s products are sold in more than 60 countries.
