Orbia has announced its first investment in SeeTree through its Orbia Ventures, a collaboration of start-ups who share the company’s vision to introduce the latest innovation and smart technology solutions.

Through the investment vehicle, the company has made a $3m investment in SeeTree, a player in the agriculture tech space with a focus on tree farming.

It aims to provide individual, per-tree insights for farmers to optimise resource usage regarding land, water, fertilisers and crop protection.

Orbia is a provider of products and innovative solutions for building and infrastructure, precision agriculture, healthcare delivery and data communications sectors.

The company said that its precision agriculture business group, Netafim will integrate SeeTree into its digital farming offering and support the development of SeeTree’s solutions.

By combining best-in-class tools with expert execution teams, The agri-tech firm provides advanced and comprehensive data intelligence network in agricultural technology.

It uses military-grade drones, ground sensors, AI & machine learning tools, and boots-on-the-ground data collection.

The end-to-end solution of SeeTree provides a multi-layered data collection strategy by introducing new resources to keep trees healthy and maximise their productivity at low costs.
