Raven Industries has collaborated with Razor Tracking to deliver an expanded fleet and asset tracking suite for ag retailers and enterprise farms.

The ag retailers and enterprise farms will be provided with an advanced fleet and asset tracking suite via Raven Slingshot platform.

Under the deal, Slingshot Fleet Tracking will be offered as the integrated logistics tracking component on Raven’s Slingshot platform.

Slingshot Fleet Tracking facilitates users to wirelessly connect their office to the field

Slingshot Fleet Tracking enables users to seamlessly and wirelessly connect their office to the field by delivering accurate location and machine running data in real-time.

The companies will provide ag retailers and growers with immediate fleet information such as work, idle and transit times to better manage their equipment, assets and operations.

Razor Tracking president Eric Mauch said: “Our vision and Raven’s vision perfectly complement one another — to create and integrate technology-driven solutions that help ag retailers and large farmers improve their efficiency and ultimately, their bottom line.”

The Razor Tracking’s capabilities will leverage Slingshot Fleet Tracking to provide users with precise real-time data on where their vehicles and assets are situated, helping to better maintain schedules for dispatching and enhance overall efficiency.

The users can also monitor non-Raven equipped assets such as other battery-connected equipment (tender trucks) and non-powered equipment (trailers, tanks and toolbars), in addition to monitoring Raven-equipped machines.

Raven first launched Slingshot in 2010 and Slingshot API was launched under the platform in 2011 to address the information gap between activity in the field and existing software in the office.

Raven Applied Technology Slingshot services and logistics director Paul Welbig said: “From machine performance to diagnostics, and now expanded tracking of both in-field and operation support assets, users of Raven’s Connected Workflow can expect 20% efficiencies gained when using the technology delivered through the integrated Slingshot platform.”

In November 2019, Raven acquired Smart Ag technology company, which is involved in the development of autonomous farming solutions for agriculture.
