Swiss agriculture company Syngenta has introduced NK soybean varieties for the year 2021, which include a range of herbicide-tolerant traits.

The 2021 NK soybean portfolio is comprised of three in-demand traits, including Enlist E3 soybeans, Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans and LibertyLink GT27 soybeans.

Syngenta’s extensive trait portfolio enables trait portfolio to create better weed management programmes

The extensive trait portfolio supports growers to design the best weed management programmes for their specific situations and enhance profit potential.

Enlist E3 varieties, which feature one of the newest traits on the market, will be tolerant of three modes of action such as 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate.

Roundup Ready 2 Xtend varieties have been designed to deliver steady performance and tolerance to dicamba and glyphosate.

LibertyLink GT27 varieties are designed to offer substantial yield and agronomics for growers focusing on the management of weeds with glufosinate and glyphosate.

Syngenta stated that an advanced trait conversion capability enables to access these traits, helping to offer desirable trait packages with new genetics to the customers.

Syngenta is offering 21 new soybean varieties for 2021, as growers started to focus on the selection of corn and soybean seed selections for next season.

NK soybeans product manager Eric Miller said: “There’s enough in agriculture that’s out of growers’ hands. Soybean trait choice shouldn’t be.

“The broad selection of herbicide-tolerant traits found in NK soybeans gives growers control over their weed management programmes.”

In June this year, Syngenta announced its plans to build a new R&D Innovation and Customer Experience Centre in Northern Illinois, US.
