Exactus, a hemp and hemp-derived cannabinoid products supplier, announced the launch of its new genetics division to supply farmers with FDA compliant feminised CBD and CBG hemp seeds in the US.

Exactus is expanding its product portfolio to become a reliable source for farmers while continuing to provide the industry with in-demand hemp-derived ingredients and consumer products such as CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, and other cannabinoids.

The company stated that with more than 20 years of experience in agriculture, it is equipped to advise farmers and help them to determine better-suited genetics depending on the region and farming methodology to use, from its seed catalogue.

The announcement comes at a time when recently the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) approved Florida’s hemp plan which is expected to be applied by thousands of farmers.

Exactus is anticipating that it can tap the demand of farmers by being first-to-market and become a trustworthy source of feminized CBD and CBG hemp seeds for those farmers.

Florida’s climate is also expected to allow for year-round hemp cultivation and the company claims that its genetics division can be the right farming partner in its home state.

The genetics division was the result of a partnership with the University of Kentucky in 2016

Exactus partnered with the University of Kentucky in 2016 and the collaboration was a consequence of the market need for reliable and compliant genetics sourcing to help farmers ensure the growth of hemp at a time when it was still an emerging crop.

Exactus claims that its experience in hemp farming comes from its successful harvest in 200 acres at its One World’s farms in Southwest Oregon.

Exactus chief growth officer Derek Du Chesne said: “In an effort to further develop our company offering, and through our farming partnerships we are able to provide farmers with a trustworthy source of CBD and CBG hemp genetics.

“We wanted to create a division that focuses on helping farmers produce this resourceful crop and provide access to consistent and compliant hemp bred specifically for high cannabinoid and terpene profiles.”
