Pure-play agriculture company Corteva Agriscience has introduced Instinct NXTGEN nitrogen stabiliser for the growing season of 2021.

Instinct NXTGEN nitrogen stabiliser is an improved formulation of Instinct nitrogen stabiliser with optimised handling and a lower use rate.

Corteva has secured registration from the US Environmental Protection Agency for the new nitrogen stabiliser, in addition to label approvals in major states.

Corteva Agriscience nitrogen stabilisers US product manager Danny Leckie said: “At Corteva Agriscience, our customers are always top of mind. We wanted to ease application stress with an improved formulation of Instinct nitrogen stabiliser, particularly for those customers who use urea.

“The lower use rate of Instinct NXTGEN nitrogen stabiliser allows for simplified mixing with urea by preventing clumping, stickiness and clogged machinery.”

The new nitrogen stabiliser delivers similar nitrogen protection as the earlier formulations with enhanced benefits.

Corteva’s new stabiliser offers specific improvements, including lower viscosity for better overall handling during early spring applications and a lower use rate of 24 ounces per acre against 37 ounces per acre for better blending when mixing with urea.

Instinct NXTGEN nitrogen stabiliser features Optinyte technology

Instinct NXTGEN nitrogen stabiliser features Optinyte technology, which enables to protect urea, UAN and liquid manure up to eight weeks during fall, spring and sidedress applications.

According to the company, the Optinyte technology in Instinct NXTGEN nitrogen stabiliser has been demonstrated to increase average yield by 5.2% when used with spring applications, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 51%, promote 28% greater soil nitrogen retention and minimise leaching by 16%.

Corteva Agriscience market development specialist Jeff Moon said: “Optinyte technology is proven to keep nitrogen in the root zone, where it can help maximize crop yield potential and ROI for farmers while protecting the environment.

“These benefits are backed up by more than 1,000 field trials and university studies for over 45 years.”

In July this year, Corteva agreed to purchase a complete stake in PhytoGen Seed Company from J.G. Boswell for an undisclosed sum.
